La economía del cuidado como fuente de conocimientos hacia la justicia social.
“El trabajo no es empleo. La riqueza no es dinero. El bienestar no es crecimiento. La naturaleza no es mercancía. La vida precaria no es un destino predeterminado.” Estas son las premisas más importantes de la economía feminista, un campo del conocimiento que en los últimos decenios ha venido a cuestionar los supuestos básicos de la ciencia económica más tradicional.
La Fundación Friedrich Ebert (FES) llevó el tema a discusión en la ciudad de Santa Cruz, que registra el mayor crecimiento económico en Bolivia. Con más de ochenta personas participando, la convocatoria captó el interés de docentes universitarios, que llegaron junto a sus alumnos para hablar sobre “Economía del cuidado”.
La expositora fue Elizabeth Peredo, conocida psicóloga social, investigadora y activista por los derechos de las mujeres y el medio ambiente.
La economía del cuidado no sólo se trata de los trabajos productivos y reproductivos que realizan las mujeres y que no gozan del reconocimiento social. Desde sus propuestas, las investigadoras de la economía del cuidado también cuestionan los principios del capitalismo, tales como el crecimiento desmedido, las relaciones desiguales entre patrones y trabajadoras y trabajadores, la doble y triple jornada laboral de las mujeres, el despojo que realizan las transnacionales de los recursos naturales, entre otros.
“La economía del cuidado propone cambiar la conversación en la economía: cambiar el enfoque neoclásico keynesiano del desarrollo infinito y de la invisibilidad del trabajo de cuidado y de la naturaleza. La economías del cuidado propone un nuevo paradigma, que dirija la mirada a las verdaderas fuentes de riqueza, bienestar y prosperidad”, explicó Elizabeth Peredo.
Las intervenciones del público estuvieron dirigidas a cuestionar al capitalismo como modelo capaz de lograr equilibrio social, a reconocer las contradicciones de clase entre los distintos sectores de mujeres y a profundizar en las alternativas para socializar las tareas del cuidado, de modo que no recaigan solamente en las espaldas de las mujeres.
