El nuevo encuentro abordará el tema de los incendios forestales donde se han convertido en una suerte de pandemia en varios lugares, entre ellos Bolivia.
Los “Conversatorios en Democracia” son un espacio de diálogo plural y deliberación pública orientado a la reflexión compartida sobre diferentes temas de interés colectivo en torno al proceso de transformaciones en Bolivia. Sobre la base de estudios e investigaciones, análisis comparados, datos, publicaciones, conocimientos diversos, historias de vida y experiencias se busca cultivar un ejercicio de intercambio de saberes y de traducción intercultural.
En los “Conversatorios”, de carácter público y periódico, se espera la concurrencia de distintas voces que, desde concepciones y prácticas diversas, expongan y debatan ideas que puedan abonar la reflexión colectiva. Los “Conversatorios en Democracia” son una iniciativa conjunta entre la Vicepresidencia del Estado Plurinacional y la Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung en Bolivia (FES Bolivia) para alentar espacios deliberativos en democracia.
Siguiendo con la serie de los “Conversatorios en Democracia”, el nuevo encuentro abordará el tema de los incendios forestales donde se han convertido en una suerte de pandemia en varios lugares, entre ellos Bolivia. Desde principios de este siglo, entre 2001 y 2023, en el país se han incrementado hasta alcanzar un promedio anual cercano a los 3,5 millones de hectáreas quemadas. El pasado mes de octubre se registraron más de cien mil focos de calor. Además de la evidente contaminación ambiental por humo en varias ciudades, la tragedia radica en la pérdida irreversible de biodiversidad.
Más allá de los récords en focos de calor y de las emergencias que se asumen cíclicamente, a veces de manera tardía, es fundamental situar y afrontar este problema desde la defensa de la vida y de la Naturaleza. Para ello se requieren políticas públicas y reformas normativas impostergables. Y es fundamental un debate público sobre el tema para avanzar en soluciones integrales y estructurales.
El evento contará con la participación del Vicepresidente del Estado Plurinacional de Bolivia, Jilata David Choquehuanca. Como panelistas invitados expondrán: Eulogio Nuñez, Director del INRA; la Senadora de Comunidad Ciudadana (CC) Cecilia Requena; Pablo Solón, presidente de la Fundación Solón; y Justo Molina, presidente de la CIDOB.
El evento se realizará en el Hall de la Vicepresidencia el día martes 19 de diciembre a las 19:00 horas.
